World Centric biodegradable and compostable straws are made from PLA, a biodegradable resin made from corn starch. PLA resin is certified for biodegradability and compostability, under ASTM D6400-99 the North American standard for "compostable plastics". The compostable straws come in packs of 100 (10,000 count) and are either individually wrapped or unwrapped.

Instead of using petroleum based plastics which create toxicity and environmental pollution, you can now use our compostable alternatives.

These PLA straws work very well with our PLA cold cups. Like the cups, these straws can withstand temperatures of up to 110 degrees Fahrenheit, and are best for cold or lukewarm drinks. We have 8" straws (0.25" in diameter) and wider 8" Smoothie Straws (0.32" in diameter).
